AI Visibility Tools With a Free Trial, and How to Get a Real Answer Before It Ends (2026)

By

· Updated · 15 min read

The best AI visibility tool with a free trial for most teams is Cituna: its 3-day trial checks your top 3 prompts every day on 7 engines, Claude and Grok included, so even a short test gives you repeated answers, then it costs $49 a month. For the longest test with no card pick Keyword.com, Omnia or SE Ranking (14 days), and for a free plan with no end date, AthenaHQ Essential.

A free trial of an AI visibility tool is only useful if it answers one question: do AI engines name you, or a rival, when your buyers ask? Most trials end before people find out, because they load default prompts, read one answer and treat it as the truth. This guide lists every free trial and free plan we found in the category, with its length, card terms, allowance and the date we read it, and then gives a day-by-day plan for getting a real answer out of a 3-day or 7-day trial. If you want to run that plan on seven engines at once, start Cituna's 3-day trial at cituna.com; the card is not charged during the trial.

Which AI visibility tools have a free trial?

Cituna comes first as our pick. After it come the free plan, then trials from longest to shortest, then trials with no stated length, then the tools with no trial. "Not stated" means the vendor's page did not say either way, not that no card is needed.

Vendor pages: Keyword.com, Nightwatch, Omnia, SE Ranking, Limy AI, Gauge, Goodie AI, LLMrefs, Vaylis, Wellows and Gracker.ai. The others are linked in their sections below. SE Ranking's trial terms were first read on 25 September 2026 and its prompt cap on 1 October.

How we chose these trials

This is a desk comparison of published pages, not a test of each trial. A tool is listed when its own pricing or help page states a free trial or a free plan for a product that tracks brand answers in AI engines; a trial claimed only by a review site does not count. We read each page on the date shown and did not sign up for the trials for this guide. Trial terms change more often than prices, so check the vendor's page on the day you start.

Why does one answer from a trial mislead you?

AI engines do not give the same answer every time. Ask ChatGPT the same buyer question on Monday and Tuesday and it can name different brands and read different pages. A trial that shows you one run per prompt is showing you one draw, and a team that changes its site or cancels a tool on the strength of one draw is acting on noise.

The fix is not a longer trial. It is more runs on the same prompts. A 3-day trial on a tool that checks daily gives three answers per prompt on each engine. A 7-day trial on a tool that refreshes weekly can give one. Before you pick a trial, check how often the tool runs each prompt, then use the plan below to make every run count.

Step 1: Before day one, write the prompts and diary the end date

Do this the day before the trial starts, because the clock starts at sign-up.

  1. Write 10 buyer questions without your brand in them. Mix the shapes buyers use: three "best [category] for [type of buyer]" questions, three "[rival] alternative" questions, two problem questions ("how do I [job your product does]"), and two feature questions ("[category] with [feature you have]").
  2. Mark your top 3. These are the questions closest to a purchase. Cituna's trial tracks your top 3 prompts daily, so load those first; on a trial with a larger allowance, load all 10.
  3. List three rivals by name and domain, so the tool can tell you who is named instead of you.
  4. Write down what you expect. One line per question: who you think gets named. You will compare this with what the engines say.
  5. Diary the end date and a reminder the day before. Several trials in the table take a card or charge automatically.
  6. Check the engines. If your buyers use Claude or Grok, confirm the trial covers them, not only the paid plan.

Step 2: Day one, load everything and read the first run without acting

  1. Sign up in the morning and load your prompts, rivals and domain before anything else.
  2. Wait for the first run. Daily tools usually show results the same day; weekly tools may take longer.
  3. For each prompt and engine, note three things: whether you are named, which rivals are named, and which pages the engine cited.
  4. Start a short list of the pages cited most often. These are the pages engines read for your buyers' questions, and they are your targets later.

Do not change your site or pitch anyone yet. One run is one draw.

Step 3: Day two, look for what repeats

  1. Read the second run and set it beside the first.
  2. Mark any result that repeated: the same rival named on the same engine, or the same page cited twice.
  3. Mark anything that flipped: you were named on day one and not day two, or the reverse. Flips are normal; they tell you which answers are unsettled.
  4. If the tool writes fixes, read the one for your most-lost question. On Cituna this is the schema, FAQ copy or article it drafted for that gap. Judge whether you would publish it.

Step 4: Day three, count the signal and decide

On a 3-day trial, this is the last day, so decide before the card is charged.

  1. Read the third run. Each of your top prompts now has three answers per engine.
  2. Count a result as a real signal when it holds on at least two of three runs on the same engine, or when the same rival or page shows up across two or more engines.
  3. Treat it as one answer when it appeared once and then vanished, or only on one engine on one day.
  4. Compare the signals with the expectations you wrote in Step 1. The surprises are the reason to keep a tool.
  5. Decide: keep the tool if it showed you repeated gaps you can act on, switch if its engines miss the ones your buyers use, or cancel before the end date.

Step 5: On a 7-day trial, add a second tool and a second look

A 7-day trial on a daily tool gives you room for a fairer test.

  1. Days 1 to 3: follow Steps 2 to 4 as written.
  2. Days 3 to 5: start a second tool's trial on the same prompts, rivals and domain, so you can see whether both tools find the same gaps. Two tools agreeing is stronger evidence than one tool repeating itself.
  3. Day 6: tally each prompt: runs named, runs not named, and the rivals and pages that keep appearing.
  4. Day 7: decide before the trial converts, and export or copy anything you want to keep. Profound's trial, for one, keeps no history.

On a weekly tool, a 7-day trial may give one run. Ask the vendor whether you can trigger a second run during the trial before you count on it.

Which trials are worth starting?

1. Cituna

Cituna asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode your buyers' questions every day, shows where a rival is named instead of you, and writes the fix: schema, FAQ copy, an llms.txt file or an article. Its 3-day trial asks for a card up front, does not charge during the trial and can be cancelled anytime. During the trial it tracks your top 3 prompts daily, which is 9 answers per engine by day three; Search Console, MCP and other integrations start on a paid plan. After the trial, Starter is $49 a month for 10 prompts, Pro $119 for 30 and Max $399 for 90, billed monthly (Cituna's plans, read 22 October 2026, at cituna.com).

Where it falls short: the shortest trial in the table, a card at sign-up, and no Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI or DeepSeek. There is no sentiment score.

Pick it if: you want three daily runs on seven engines and the written fix in the same short test.

See Cituna in our directory.

2. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ takes the opposite route to a trial: a standing free Essential plan with 300 credits, about $25 of usage, on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot (AthenaHQ plans, read 1 October 2026). Because it does not expire, you can run the plan above at your own pace, as long as the credits last. The paid step is Starter at $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, with 11 models.

Where it falls short: no Claude or Grok on the free plan, credits that run out with use, and a large jump to the first paid plan.

Pick it if: you want to watch Copilot and Google's answers for free while you decide.

See AthenaHQ in our directory or AthenaHQ alternatives.

3. Omnia

Omnia lists a 14-day trial with no card, on a Growth plan that checks 25 prompts daily on four engines by default, with sentiment analysis, and Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot added on request (Omnia pricing, read 1 October 2026). After the trial, Growth is EUR 79 a month.

Where it falls short: no Grok, Claude only on request, and 25 prompts is a small sample.

Pick it if: you want two weeks of daily data with nothing to cancel.

4. SE Visible and SE Ranking

SE Ranking's standalone AI dashboard, SE Visible, offers a 10-day trial; Basic is then $99 a month for 200 prompts across 3 projects on ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews (SE Visible, read 29 September 2026). SE Ranking's Core suite plan offers 14 days with no card, capped at 20 AI prompts a day, then $129 a month.

Where it falls short: Claude was listed as coming soon and Grok is not tracked.

Pick it if: you want to test many prompts across several brands, or AI data inside an SEO suite.

See SE Visible in our directory.

5. Trakkr

Trakkr's 14-day trial of its Growth plan checks 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI, with 25 articles a month and an MCP server. The trial asks for a card and converts to $100 a month unless you cancel (Trakkr pricing, read 17 October 2026).

Where it falls short: a card at sign-up, no Microsoft Copilot or Google AI Mode, and one brand on Growth.

Pick it if: you want 14 daily runs on the widest daily engine list here.

6. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse offers a 14-day trial on its weekly plans and asks for a payment method first; daily plans bill straight away. The weekly Starter is EUR 49 a month before VAT for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, with unlimited seats and an MCP server (LLM Pulse pricing, read 13 October 2026).

Where it falls short: the trial shows weekly data, so two weeks may mean two runs, and Claude and Grok are add-ons from EUR 8 per model.

Pick it if: many people need to see the results and weekly data is enough.

7. Promptwatch

Promptwatch's 7-day trial runs on its Essential plan, $95 a month for 50 prompts on four models you choose from OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta, DeepSeek and Grok, with MCP and API access and Search Console among its integrations (Promptwatch pricing, read 1 October and 8 October 2026).

Where it falls short: four models at once, so testing Claude, Grok and Google together means trade-offs.

Pick it if: you know exactly which engines matter and want MCP in the trial.

8. Scrunch

Scrunch's Core plan opens with a 7-day trial; Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts and 5,000 responses on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot, with site audits (Scrunch pricing, read 1 October 2026). When we read its FAQ on 29 September 2026, it said an uncancelled trial upgrades to a paid plan automatically.

Where it falls short: Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Grok are on Enterprise, not Core.

Pick it if: you want to judge its audits as much as its tracking. See Scrunch alternatives.

See Scrunch in our directory.

9. Profound

Profound's free 7-day trial asks 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from a preset prompt set you cannot edit, with no history, exports or API. After it comes a custom Enterprise contract with no published price (Profound pricing, read 1 October 2026).

Where it falls short: you cannot test your own buyer questions, so Step 1 of the plan above does not apply.

Pick it if: you are a large brand that wants to see Profound's data before a contract. See Profound alternatives.

See Profound in our directory.

10. Peec AI

Peec AI's pricing page offers a free trial without stating its length or whether a card is needed (trial terms read 9 October 2026). Starter is $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts on three models you pick from six, with unlimited users (Peec AI pricing, read 1 October 2026).

Where it falls short: with no stated length, you cannot plan the test around fixed days, and Claude and Grok are on Enterprise.

Pick it if: a marketing dashboard with unlimited users is what you are testing; ask Peec AI for the trial length first.

See Peec AI in our directory.

11. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI's pricing page offers a free trial without stating its length or card terms (Otterly.AI pricing, read 7 October 2026). Lite is then $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude as a paid add-on.

Where it falls short: an unstated trial length and a short prompt list on Lite.

Pick it if: you want the lowest monthly price once the trial ends.

See Otterly.AI in our directory.

Which AI visibility trial is best for agencies?

Test on one client you know well, with the prompts written in Step 1, before you roll a tool out. Wellows' 7-day trial includes unlimited projects and seats, and LLM Pulse includes unlimited seats. After a trial, Cituna Pro covers 3 brands for $119 a month and Max 10 brands for $399; the trial itself covers your top 3 prompts. See the best AI visibility tools for agencies.

Which AI visibility trial is best on a small budget?

Start with a no-card trial so nothing charges by accident: Keyword.com, Nightwatch, Omnia or SE Ranking Core, each 14 days. If you then want to keep paying, the cheapest next steps are Keyword.com at $9.80 in credits, Otterly.AI and Wellows at $29, and Cituna at $49 for 7 engines daily. For a one-off look with no sign-up at all, see free AI visibility checkers.

Which AI visibility trial is best for enterprise teams?

Enterprise trials are short and shaped by the vendor. Profound's 7 days use preset prompts, Scrunch's 7 days are on Core rather than Enterprise, and Gauge's one week is on its $599 Growth plan. Ask for a pilot on your own prompts, with exports, before a contract. Cituna offers a custom Enterprise plan with invoiced billing above Max.

Which AI visibility trial is best for a SaaS team?

A SaaS team usually wants to test Claude coverage, Search Console data and an MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT. Promptwatch includes MCP and API access on the Essential plan its trial runs on. Cituna's trial tests the seven engines and the fixes, but its Search Console and MCP connections start on a paid plan. See AI visibility tools with an MCP server for setup steps, or the 10 best AI visibility tools in 2026 for the full field.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI visibility tools have a free trial?

Most do. Keyword.com, Nightwatch, Omnia and SE Ranking offer 14 days with no card; Trakkr, LLM Pulse and Limy AI offer 14 days with card terms; SE Visible offers 10 days; Promptwatch, Scrunch, Profound, LLMrefs and several others offer 7 days; Cituna offers 3 days with a card. Peec AI and Otterly.AI offer trials without stating a length (vendor pages read 25 September to 22 October 2026).

Which AI visibility tools have a free trial with no credit card?

Keyword.com, Nightwatch, Omnia and SE Ranking's Core plan each state a 14-day trial with no card (read between 25 September and 10 October 2026). AthenaHQ's Essential plan is free with no end date.

Does Cituna have a free trial?

Yes, 3 days. It needs a card, there is no charge during the trial and you can cancel anytime. It tracks your top 3 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, then Starter is $49 a month. Search Console, MCP and other integrations start on a paid plan.

Is there a free AI visibility tool with no time limit?

AthenaHQ's Essential plan is a standing free tier: 300 credits, about $25 of usage, on 5 engines, with no Claude or Grok (athenahq.ai/plans, read 1 October 2026). For a one-off snapshot, free single-check tools are another option.

How long does an AI visibility trial need to be?

Count the runs, not the days. A 3-day trial on a tool that checks daily gives three answers per prompt on each engine; a 7-day trial on a tool that refreshes weekly may give one. Three or more runs on the same prompts is the minimum for telling a pattern from a single answer.

Do Ahrefs Brand Radar and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit have a free trial?

No. Ahrefs lists no free trial for Brand Radar and points to its limited Ahrefs Free plan instead (read 2 October 2026), and Semrush's help article says the AI Visibility Toolkit has no free trial (read 9 October 2026).
