12 Best AI Mode Rank Trackers in 2026

By

· Updated · 15 min read

Google AI Mode is the conversational answer Google gives in its own tab, and an AI Mode rank tracker asks it your buyer questions on a schedule and logs who gets named and which pages get linked. Of the AI visibility tools we track, 12 meet at least four of the five checks below, and six meet all five. Cituna comes first for daily AI Mode checks with the fixes written for you; Ahrefs Brand Radar, Peec AI, SE Visible, Rankscale and Gauge complete the top six.

Key takeaways

  • The best AI Mode rank tracker for teams that want each gap fixed, not only reported, is Cituna: it asks your buyer questions in Google AI Mode every day on every plan, records the brands named and the pages cited, and writes the fix, from $49 a month.
  • Six trackers meet all five of our checks: Cituna, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Peec AI, SE Visible, Rankscale and Gauge. Wellows, Otterly.AI, LLM Pulse, Parse, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and AthenaHQ meet four.
  • Other picks by need: Ahrefs Brand Radar ($50 a month for custom prompts) if you already work in Ahrefs; SE Visible ($99) for answers collected the way a searcher sees them; Rankscale for hourly checks; Parse ($79) if ChatGPT and AI Mode are the only engines you care about.
  • AI Overviews on a plan does not mean AI Mode on that plan: Scrunch's $250 Core plan and Profound's trial track AI Overviews but leave AI Mode to Enterprise, and Otterly.AI sells AI Mode as an add-on from $9 a month.
  • Every price and plan detail comes from our tool directory and our own guides, recorded from vendor pages between 24 September and 24 October 2026, plus two web searches run on 27 October 2026.

To see which buyer questions AI Mode answers without your brand, start Cituna's 3-day trial of its AI Mode tracker; it checks AI Mode daily alongside six other engines and writes the fix for each gap. To weigh these trackers against every AI visibility tool in our directory on price and free plan, see the AI visibility tools compared.

How we chose and ranked them

We started from every AI visibility tool in the Automate Basics directory and in our Perplexity rank tracker comparison and AI Mode brand-mention guide, and scored each on five checks taken from its own pages as we recorded them:

  1. AI Mode on the cheapest paid plan, not held back for Enterprise or sold as an add-on.
  2. A stated check frequency of daily or more often.
  3. Cited pages recorded, not only whether the brand is named.
  4. A published self-serve price for a plan or add-on that includes AI Mode.
  5. A free trial, free plan or free AI Mode tool.

To make the list a tool needed at least four of the five. Within each group the order is the monthly-billed price of the cheapest plan that includes AI Mode, lowest first, and a tie goes to the longer free trial. That is why SE Visible sits above Rankscale at the same $99: its trial runs 10 days against 7.

Cituna's entry is sponsored. It passes the same five checks, and its facts come from its own pages, as every other entry's do.

Twelve tools passed. These did not:

  • ZipTie ($42.75), Rankshift ($92) and Goodie ($399) put AI Mode on their entry plans and offer trials, and Rankability ($497) records cited sources, but none of the four states a check frequency on the pages we read, so each meets three.
  • Scrunch and Profound keep AI Mode for Enterprise plans priced by quote, and Conductor publishes no prices.
  • Nightwatch's own pages disagree on whether AI Mode is tracked, and Trakkr does not track it on any plan.
  • Keyword.com names AI Mode, but its pricing page as we recorded it on 29 September and reviews returned by a web search on 27 October 2026 disagree on whether AI Mode is in the plan or a credit-priced add-on, so we left it out until that is settled.

Why AI Mode needs its own tracker

AI Mode and AI Overviews are separate captures. An AI Overview is the summary block placed above ordinary results; AI Mode is a full answer page where the searcher can keep asking. Google's documentation says both can split a question into several related searches behind the scenes, a technique it calls query fan-out, and that AI Mode suits questions needing comparison or reasoning. In practice that means a brand can appear in one and be missing from the other for the same question.

Search Console will not separate them for you. Its Generative AI performance report combines AI Overviews and AI Mode, counts how often links to your site were shown, and has no query breakdown, so it cannot tell you whether AI Mode named you or a rival. A tracker fills that gap by asking AI Mode directly. For the AI Overviews side on its own, see how to track Google AI Overviews.

Two questions to put to any vendor before you buy:

  • Which surface does "Google AI" mean on my plan? Several tools name "Google AI Overviews" on the entry plan and reserve AI Mode for a higher tier or an add-on. Read the plan table, not the home page.
  • How are follow-up questions handled? Google counts a follow-up asked inside AI Mode as a new query in Search Console. None of the 12 tools' pages, as we recorded them, describes running a scripted second question inside one AI Mode conversation, so if a follow-up matters to your buyers, add it to your list as a prompt of its own.

The 12 AI Mode rank trackers, ranked

1. Cituna

Sponsored.

Cituna puts your buyer questions to Google AI Mode every day, along with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Google AI Overviews, and AI Mode is on every plan, including the trial. For each answer it stores the brands AI Mode named and the pages it linked, then writes the fix for the gaps it finds: schema, FAQ markup and articles, ranked by impact and effort. Articles can go straight to WordPress, Shopify or Sanity, to a GitHub repository as Markdown, or to another CMS through a signed webhook. Search Console data comes with every plan, and Cituna can draw your buyer questions from your own Search Console queries, which keeps the AI Mode prompts tied to searches people already make.

Starter is $49 a month for 1 brand and 10 buyer prompts, with 30 written articles a month. Pro is $119 for 3 brands and 30 prompts and adds competitor tracking and alerts; Max is $399 for 10 brands and 90 prompts.

Where it falls short: the 3-day trial needs a card and turns into Starter unless cancelled, competitor tracking starts on Pro, and Microsoft Copilot is not tracked. Source: Cituna's pricing page, recorded 22 October 2026.

To see which of your buyer questions AI Mode answers with a rival's name, run Cituna's AI Mode tracker for 3 days.

2. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Ahrefs Brand Radar covers AI Mode in two ways. Its custom prompts track the questions you choose, per platform, on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule, and record mentions and citations. Its AI Visibility Index looks a brand up across Ahrefs' own database of search-based prompts with no setup, but those question sets are re-run monthly, so the Index is a benchmark rather than a daily feed.

The smallest custom-prompt package is $50 a month for 2,500 checks, which Ahrefs illustrates as 80 prompts a day on one platform, with extra checks at $0.02 each. The Index starts at $199 a month on Ahrefs' pricing page. Before paying, the free AI Mode Tracker shows a limited preview of your brand's mentions across the prompts Ahrefs tested, with the five most-cited domains and pages, and needs no signup.

Where it falls short: there is no free trial of the paid product, and Ahrefs' Brand Radar prices have been shown differently on its product and pricing pages, so confirm the package that includes AI Mode at checkout. Sources: Ahrefs pricing, recorded 24 September 2026, and the AI Mode Tracker, read 24 October 2026.

3. Peec AI

Peec AI prices its plans by the number of prompts tracked each day, and on the self-serve plans you choose 3 models to track. Google AI Mode is one of the models you can choose, alongside ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Each run records visibility, position and sentiment against your competitors, and its source analytics list the domains and URLs the answers cite, sorted by type.

Starter is $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts in 1 project with unlimited users. A fourth model costs $35 a month on Starter.

Where it falls short: picking AI Mode uses one of only 3 model slots, the trial's length is not stated on the pricing page, and API access is Enterprise-only. Source: Peec AI pricing, recorded 17 October 2026.

4. SE Visible

SE Visible, from SE Ranking, checks prompts every day on Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and says it gathers each answer through the platform's own interface rather than an API. For AI Mode that matters, because what it stores is closer to what a searcher is shown. Its AI Sources report ranks the domains and URLs cited most, grouped as media, blogs, forums and similar, which makes it useful for planning outreach.

Basic is $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts (about 30,000 AI answers analysed a month) across 3 projects, with unlimited users.

Where it falls short: country tracking covers the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain, and query fan-out analysis is listed as coming soon, which is a gap for an engine built on fan-out. Source: SE Visible, recorded 24 September 2026.

5. Rankscale

Rankscale bills in credits and lets you schedule each prompt from hourly to monthly, so you can watch your most valuable AI Mode questions every hour and the rest once a week. An AI Mode check costs 0.25 credits, the same as ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. Query fan-out analysis is on every plan, and it also reports ads and shopping results in AI Mode.

Essentials is $17 a month, sold yearly only at $204, with 120 credits a month: enough for 480 AI Mode checks if every credit goes to AI Mode. Pro is $99 a month, or $84 billed yearly, with 1,200 credits and a 7-day trial.

Where it falls short: credits make the monthly cost harder to predict once you add engines such as Claude, which costs 2 credits a check, and Essentials does not roll unused credits over. Our directory does not record whether any engine is limited by plan, so confirm AI Mode on Essentials before buying it. Source: Rankscale pricing, recorded 17 October 2026.

6. Gauge

Gauge tracks Google AI Mode natively on its Growth plan, among six engines with ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, and reports mention rate, citation rate and AI referral traffic. It publishes its own volume: 600 prompts a day and 108,000 AI answers a month on Growth. It can also publish finished articles to a connected CMS.

Growth is $599 a month, with a 1-week trial; Enterprise is priced by quote.

Where it falls short: it is the most expensive entry with a published price here, and Claude and Grok need your own API key with those providers. Source: Gauge pricing, recorded 29 September 2026.

7. Wellows

Wellows includes all five of its engines, Google AI Mode among them, on every plan, so the $29 Basic plan tracks AI Mode with no add-on. Its Citation Score separates explicit citations from implicit ones, and Search Console comes with every plan.

Basic is $29 a month, and Standard is $97 for more prompts, with a 7-day trial.

Where it falls short: the pages we read give no check frequency, which is the one check it misses, and it does not track Claude or Grok. Source: Wellows pricing, recorded 29 September 2026.

8. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI runs prompts daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, and adds Google AI Mode as a paid extra. It reports brand mentions and website citations, with a Brand Visibility Index on top.

Lite is $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts; AI Mode adds from $9 a month on Lite, and the add-on costs more on larger plans. API and MCP access start on Standard at $189 a month.

Where it falls short: AI Mode is never included in the base price, which is the check it misses, and 15 prompts is a small sample for a market. Source: Otterly.AI pricing, recorded 24 September 2026.

9. LLM Pulse

LLM Pulse includes Google AI Mode on its Starter plan of 50 prompts, and it prices that plan by how often the prompts run: EUR 49 a month for weekly checks or EUR 79 for daily ones, before VAT. Weekly plans come with a 14-day trial, and a payment method is needed first.

Where it falls short: the pages we recorded do not describe a cited-pages report, and the 14-day trial is listed for the weekly plans, not the daily one. Source: LLM Pulse pricing, recorded 1 and 13 October 2026.

10. Parse

Parse asks ChatGPT and Google AI Mode the same buyer questions and counts every answer, so its main number is the share of answers that mention you, with citations and a rival comparison next to it. With two engines the report stays short, which suits a brand whose buyers search Google and use ChatGPT.

Pro is $79 a month per brand. The free plan covers one brand with weekly updates.

Where it falls short: prompts on the free plan are asked on ChatGPT only, so AI Mode needs Pro, and its pages do not state how often Pro checks. Source: Parse, read 24 October 2026.

11. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit checks the prompts you choose every day on platforms including ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, and scores your brand's visibility in AI answers against your top competitors. Its competitor research shows the prompts and topics where rivals turn up and you do not. Before paying, Semrush's Free AI Visibility Checker runs 3 checks a day with no account, across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode.

The toolkit is $99 a month for 25 tracked prompts and one domain; 50 more prompts cost $60 a month, and each extra user needs a $99 licence of their own.

Where it falls short: there is no free trial of the toolkit, Brand Performance reports refresh weekly rather than daily, and the pages we recorded do not describe a cited-pages report, which is the check it misses. Sources: Semrush's toolkit help page, recorded 24 September 2026, and its free checker, checked 29 September 2026.

12. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ's Starter plan covers Google AI Mode among 11 models, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Grok. Usage runs on credits, where one credit buys one AI response, and its prompt analysis includes source and competitor insights, with a content optimisation agent for the pages you need to improve.

Starter is $295 a month, or $245 billed annually, with 3,600 credits a month.

Where it falls short: the free Essential plan covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot but not AI Mode, and API access and extra credits are add-ons priced on request. Source: AthenaHQ plans, recorded 24 September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI Mode rank tracker?

For daily AI Mode checks with the fix written for each gap, Cituna, from $49 a month. Ahrefs Brand Radar, Peec AI, SE Visible, Rankscale and Gauge also meet all five of our checks; the right one depends on whether you need an existing Ahrefs account, unlimited users, hourly checks or high volume.

Does a tool that tracks AI Overviews also track AI Mode?

Not always. Scrunch's Core plan and Profound's trial both cover AI Overviews but not AI Mode, and Otterly.AI charges extra for AI Mode. Check that "AI Mode" is named on the plan you are buying.

Is there a free AI Mode tracker?

Ahrefs' AI Mode Tracker is free with no signup, but it shows a limited preview across Ahrefs' own prompts rather than your questions. To track your own questions, Cituna's 3-day trial covers AI Mode with a card, SE Visible offers a 10-day trial and Rankscale a 7-day trial of Pro.
