7 Best AI Overviews Rank Trackers in 2026
By Anu Verma
Seven tools record, keyword by keyword, whether Google's AI Overview cites your page and show it next to your organic rank or Search Console data: Cituna, Ahrefs Rank Tracker, SE Ranking, Advanced Web Ranking, Rankability, Semrush Position Tracking and AccuRanker. Cituna (sponsored) and Ahrefs meet all three of our extra checks, and Cituna has the lowest entry price of the seven at $49 a month. Search Console's own AI report shows Overview impressions by page, not by query, which is why a per-keyword tracker is needed.

Key takeaways
- Seven tools log, for each keyword, whether Google's AI Overview cites your page and put that next to your organic rank or Search Console data. They are Cituna, Ahrefs Rank Tracker, SE Ranking, Advanced Web Ranking, Rankability, Semrush Position Tracking and AccuRanker.
- Cituna (sponsored) and Ahrefs meet all three extra checks: being named counted apart from being cited, other AI answers tracked on the same plan, and a free way to try it. Cituna's $49 a month is the lowest entry price of the seven.
- SE Ranking offers a 14-day free trial with no card, then $129 a month.
- Google's own report shows AI Overviews impressions by page, country, date or device, never by query and never with a position, so a per-keyword tracker fills a real gap.
If you want each keyword's AI Overview checked every day and the missing citations turned into published fixes, start a 3-day Cituna trial; a card is required (sponsored). To set these trackers beside every other tool we have priced, browse the Automate Basics tool directory.
An AI Overviews rank tracker answers a narrower question than a general AI visibility tool. For each keyword you track, it records whether Google showed an AI Overview, whether your page is among the sources linked inside it, and how that compares with where the same page ranks in the ordinary results below. This page compares the seven tools that do all three, using our own tool directory, our guide to tracking Google AI Overviews by hand, and web searches run on 27 October 2026.
Why Search Console alone does not track AI Overviews
Google counts AI Overviews clicks and impressions inside the "Web" search type of the regular Performance report, with no filter to separate them, according to Google's documentation as read for our tracking guide on 29 September 2026. Its Generative AI performance report, rolled out worldwide on 31 August 2026, does count AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions, but only grouped by page, country, date or device. It has no query breakdown, no clicks and no position.
Position is the other problem. Google treats an AI Overview as one element on the results page and gives every link inside it the same position, so a source listed first and a source listed sixth look identical in Search Console. A tracker that searches each keyword itself, saves the Overview and reads its list of sources is the only way to know, query by query, whether you are in it. That is the job the tools below are compared on.
How we chose and ranked the seven
The bar. To be listed, a tool had to do three things on a plan with a published price: include AI Overviews in that plan rather than as a separate add-on, record whether your page or domain is cited inside the Overview for a given keyword, and show that result next to your organic ranking or your Search Console data for the same query. Seven tools pass.
The order. Among the seven, each tool scores one point for each of three checks, counted only when the vendor's own page, as read for our directory or guides, says so:
- It records being named in the Overview's text separately from being linked as a source.
- The same plan also tracks other AI answers, such as Google AI Mode or ChatGPT.
- You can try it free, through a trial, a free plan or a free AI Overviews checker from the same vendor.
Ties go to the lower monthly entry price, then the lower annual rate. Location and device settings are not scored, because the pages we read did not confirm them for most of the seven.
The data. Cituna's facts come from our tool directory, read from cituna.com on 22 October 2026. The Ahrefs Brand Radar facts come from the directory too, read 24 September 2026. Rankability's facts come from our Perplexity tracker comparison. The facts for Ahrefs Rank Tracker, SE Ranking, Advanced Web Ranking, Semrush and AccuRanker come from our AI Overviews tracking guide. All of those were read from the vendors' own pages on 29 September 2026. The notes on Ahrefs' free tracker, on the Advanced Web Ranking, Semrush and AccuRanker free trials, and on Surfer come from web searches run on 27 October 2026. Prices are in US dollars per month on monthly billing unless stated.
Cituna's entry is sponsored, and its place comes from the same rules as every other tool's: it meets the same bar, its facts come from its own pages as everyone else's do, and it scores all three checks.

The 7 trackers, in order
1. Cituna
Sponsored.
Cituna asks Google AI Overviews your buyers' questions every day, on every plan, alongside Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Grok. For each answer it records which brands each engine names and which pages it cites, so being mentioned in the Overview's text and being one of its linked sources show up as two separate facts. The questions can be drawn from your own Search Console queries, and it includes Search Console data on every plan, so an Overview that leaves you out sits next to the clicks and impressions that query already brings you.
Where most trackers stop at the report, Cituna writes the fix for each gap it finds, such as schema, FAQ markup, llms.txt and articles, and publishes the articles to WordPress, Shopify, Sanity, a GitHub repository or any other CMS by signed webhook. Starter writes 30 articles a month. It also turns the sites the engines cite into an outreach plan, with a pitch for each site.
Starter is $49 a month for 1 brand and 10 buyer prompts, Pro is $119 a month for 3 brands and 30 prompts, and Max is $399 a month for 10 brands and 90 prompts.
Where it falls short: there is no free plan, and the 3-day trial needs a card and becomes Starter unless you cancel. Starter tracks 10 prompts for one brand, competitor tracking is listed from Pro, and it does not track Microsoft Copilot. Source: Cituna's pricing page, read 22 October 2026.
Start Cituna's 3-day trial to see which of your keywords' AI Overviews leave you out, and get the fix written for each one.
2. Ahrefs Rank Tracker
Ahrefs' Rank Tracker counts AI Overview among the 19 SERP features it tracks, from the cheapest Lite plan. Its API returns the position and URL of each source listed inside the Overview, which is the raw material for checking your citation against your organic rank on the same keyword.
The same Lite plan includes 5 tracked AI prompts in Ahrefs Brand Radar, which reports metrics for mentions, citations and AI share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. More Brand Radar prompts can be bought from $50 a month for 2,500 checks. Ahrefs also runs a free AI Overviews tracker that needs no sign-up and shows which of your pages the Overviews cite, per a web search on 27 October 2026. Scheduled tracking in Rank Tracker needs a paid plan.
Price: Lite is $129 a month, or $108 a month billed annually.
Where it falls short: Ahrefs offers no free trial of its paid plans, and 5 Brand Radar prompts on Lite is a small allowance for AI tracking. Sources: Ahrefs' Rank Tracker, read 29 September 2026, and Ahrefs' pricing, read 24 September 2026.
3. SE Ranking
SE Ranking's AI Overviews Tracker shows day-by-day position changes and which domains are cited as sources in the Overview, inside the same rank tracker that follows your ordinary Google positions. The SEO platform also tracks AI prompts from its Core plan. SE Ranking sells a separate AI visibility product, SE Visible, from $99 a month, for teams that want ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews without the rank tracker.
Price: Core is $129 a month, or $103.20 a month billed annually, with a 14-day free trial that needs no card.
Where it falls short: the pages we read describe cited domains and positions, not a separate count of being named in the Overview's text. Source: SE Ranking's AI Overviews Tracker, read 29 September 2026.
4. Advanced Web Ranking
Advanced Web Ranking tackles the gap Google's single-position rule leaves. On its Pro plan it separates AI brand mentions from citations, then adds its own citation rank, showing where your page sits in the list of sources inside the Overview. A report puts your AI citations next to your ordinary organic rankings for the same keyword, so you can see a page that ranks fifth but is cited first, or the other way round.
Price: Pro is $139 a month, with a 30-day free trial of every feature that needs no card.
Where it falls short: the pages we read did not say whether Pro also tracks AI Mode or chat engines. Source: Advanced Web Ranking pricing, read 29 September 2026.
5. Rankability
Rankability's single self-serve plan tracks 9 AI platforms, Google AI Overviews among them, and records one of three states for every scan: Mentioned, Cited-as-source or Not-mentioned. A Google Search Console overlay sits on top, and the plan covers unlimited clients and users, which suits an agency reporting AI Overviews results for many sites.
Price: $497 a month billed monthly on a 12-month agreement, or $4,970 a year.
Where it falls short: there is no self-serve plan below $497 a month and no free trial is published. Source: Rankability's pricing page, read 29 September 2026.
6. Semrush Position Tracking
Semrush's Position Tracking flags when a tracked keyword triggers an AI Overview and whether you appear in it, next to that keyword's organic position. It comes with the $139-a-month SEO plan rather than as an add-on. Semrush sells AI answer tracking separately in its AI Visibility Toolkit, at $99 a month, which our directory lists for ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.
Price: $139 a month for the SEO plan, with a 7-day free trial.
Where it falls short: the pages we read record whether you appear, not whether you are named in the text or linked as a source. Source: Semrush's rank tracking features, read 29 September 2026.
7. AccuRanker
AccuRanker's rank tracker has a page of its own for AI Overviews. It shows how many of your keywords have triggered an Overview over time and marks a keyword "owned" when your domain is one of the cited URLs. For a site whose traffic depends on a few hundred head terms, the trigger history shows whether Overviews are spreading across them before the clicks fall.
Price: the Professional plan starts at $224 a month, with a 14-day free trial that needs no card at sign-up.
Where it falls short: after Rankability it has the highest entry price of the seven, and the pages we read did not mention other AI engines. Source: AccuRanker pricing, read 29 September 2026.
Which AI Overviews rank tracker should you choose?
If you want the missing citations fixed, not only found, start with Cituna (sponsored). If your team already lives in Ahrefs, its Rank Tracker and the Brand Radar prompts on Lite cover AI Overviews without a new tool. SE Ranking suits you if you want daily AI Overview positions and the domains cited inside the rank tracker you already use for organic results, and Advanced Web Ranking is the pick when the exact place of your link inside the Overview matters. Rankability fits agencies with many clients, Semrush fits accounts already paying for its SEO plan, and AccuRanker fits sites watching Overview coverage across a large keyword set.
Tools that track AI Overviews but missed the bar
Several AI visibility platforms in our directory run your questions through AI Overviews and log the sites cited, but their pages, as read for the directory, do not pair that with organic rank or Search Console data. Otterly.AI tracks AI Overviews daily from $29 a month. Peec AI lets you choose AI Overviews as one of 3 models from $95 a month. Scrunch includes it on Core at $250 a month, and Rankscale includes it among the more than 17 engines it lists. AthenaHQ lists a Google Search Console integration, but its plan table did not show which plan includes it. Profound covers Google AI Overviews in its 7-day free trial but publishes no self-serve plan for brands after it. Our comparison of Perplexity rank trackers covers these prompt-based tools in more depth.
Surfer launched its AI Tracker as a beta add-on, and search results read on 27 October 2026 quoted prices from $95 a month. Those results disagreed with each other, and one said the add-on had been replaced, so it is not ranked here.
To compare every AI visibility tool in our directory on price and free plan, browse the AI visibility category, or open the full tool directory for the rest. To see which of your own keywords' AI Overviews cite a competitor instead of you, and get the fix written for each, start a 3-day Cituna trial (sponsored).
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI Overviews rank tracker?
For tracking whether Google's AI Overview cites you, keyword by keyword, Cituna (sponsored) and Ahrefs Rank Tracker meet all three of our extra checks: they record being named separately from being cited, track other AI answers on the same plan, and can be tried free. Cituna starts at $49 a month and Ahrefs Lite at $129 a month. SE Ranking, at $129 a month, offers a 14-day trial with no card.
Is there a free AI Overviews tracker?
Ahrefs offers a free AI Overviews tracker that needs no sign-up and shows which of your pages the Overviews cite, according to a web search run on 27 October 2026; scheduled tracking needs a paid plan. Google Search Console also has a free Generative AI performance report, rolled out on 31 August 2026, that shows AI Overviews impressions by page, country, date or device, but not by query.
Does Google Search Console show my rank in AI Overviews?
No. Google counts clicks and impressions from AI Overviews inside the ordinary Web search type, and its Generative AI performance report has no position column and no query breakdown, per Google's documentation as read for our AI Overviews tracking guide on 29 September 2026.
Can a tracker show where my link sits inside an AI Overview?
Google gives every link in one AI Overview the same position, so Search Console cannot. Advanced Web Ranking adds its own citation rank, showing where your page sits among the sources listed in the Overview, on its $139-a-month Pro plan (checked 29 September 2026).
