· Updated · 13 min read

The ten Jobscan alternatives worth comparing in 2026 are RecruitMyself, Careerflow, Teal, Simplify, Huntr, Rezi, SkillSyncer, Jobalytics, Resume Worded and Resume Matcher. Among the tools that check a CV against a job post, build the CV and fill in applications, RecruitMyself has the lowest monthly price: Pro is $19 a month against $49.95 for Jobscan Premium, read on 16 October 2026. RecruitMyself is made by a company connected to Automate Basics. For no cost at all, Jobalytics is a free Chrome extension and Resume Matcher is free open-source software you run yourself.

Of the ten Jobscan alternatives below, RecruitMyself has the lowest monthly price among the tools that check a CV against a job post, build the CV and fill in applications: it scores your CV, fixes missing keywords, tailors the CV to each job, matches you to open roles and fills in application forms, with Pro at $19 a month against $49.95 for Jobscan Premium. Careerflow does the same three jobs with Premium at $23.99 a month, Teal at $29 a month, Simplify at $39.99 and Huntr at $40. Rezi puts keyword targeting inside its builder for $29 a month, $19 a month on its quarterly plan or $149 once. Jobalytics is a free Chrome extension, SkillSyncer does Jobscan's scan-and-score job for $14.95 a month, Resume Worded adds line-by-line feedback, and Resume Matcher is free open-source software you run yourself. Prices are the dollar figures each tool lists, on monthly billing, read on 16 October 2026.

Jobscan compares your resume with a job post and gives you a match rate. Its free account includes 5 resume scans a month, and Premium lifts the limit and opens tools such as AI Optimize and LinkedIn optimization for $49.95 a month, or $89.95 every three months ($29.98 a month), with a free trial on the quarterly plan that sources put at 7 or 14 days (Jobscan's plan page, found 16 October 2026). If that monthly price is why you are looking, note that every tool here is compared on how it checks a CV against a job post, what you get free and what a month costs.

How we chose these 10

Our pool was every tool that AI answer engines named for resume-builder and job-search questions in a Cituna scan on 16 October 2026 (among them Teal, Rezi, Kickresume, Enhancv, Resume.io, Zety, FlowCV, Jobright, Simplify, Huntr, Careerflow, LoopCV, Sonara and AIApply), plus Resume Worded and SkillSyncer, which Jobscan's own blog compares itself with, Jobalytics and Resume Matcher, from a search for free Jobscan-style scanners, and RecruitMyself. A tool made the list if it:

  • checks a CV against a specific job post and shows a score or missing keywords, Jobscan's core job,
  • has a free plan or free version,
  • shows a price we could pin down, on its own page or in sources that agree.

Three tools fail on price alone. Enhancv's own pricing page puts Pro at $39 a month, but its older pages show $24.99 and its prices vary by country. Jobright is reported at $39.99 a month, but it publishes no pricing table and one of its own blog posts quotes lower figures. LoopCV's own page says paid plans start from €9.99 a month, while listings report $19.99. AIApply has a resume scanner, but the sources we read showed no free plan. For Kickresume, Resume.io, Zety, FlowCV and Sonara, the sources we read did not show a check of a CV against a particular job post.

We ranked the ten in two groups. First come the tools that do Jobscan's match-and-fix job and also build the CV and fill in applications, ordered by the lowest published monthly price. Then come the tools that do part of that, ordered by how many of seven job-search steps each covers: a job-post check, AI rewriting or tailoring, a resume builder, matched jobs, filling in applications, tracking applications and interview practice. In the second group, ties go to tools you sign up for ahead of software you run yourself, then to the lower monthly price. Step counts only include what a tool's own page or our sources show.

RecruitMyself's facts come from its own pages and Jobscan's from its plan page as a web search returned it. For each rival we ran one web search on 16 October 2026, plus a check of its help pages where an editor found a gap; most results were third-party pricing guides, so where they disagree, the entry says so.

1. RecruitMyself

RecruitMyself is made by a company connected to Automate Basics.

Best for: job seekers who want the scan, the rewrite and the application in one account.

RecruitMyself does Jobscan's match-and-fix job and keeps going. Its CV score runs 30 checks and returns a score from 0 to 100, with keywords weighted at 40% and job-title alignment at 20%. Pro adds unlimited ATS scans with keyword fixes, and its AI tailors your CV to each job in one click. The builder imports the CV you already have, sharpens your bullets against a job description's keywords and exports a selectable-text PDF from single-column templates.

Then come the steps after the scan. The job board pulls listings from Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and SmartRecruiters boards twice a day and scores each one against your profile, and Pro sends a weekday 8 AM email of roles that score 70% or more. A Chrome extension, free to install, fills in applications on Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, LinkedIn and company career pages, and you review and submit each one yourself. Pro also includes AI interview prep for any role and company.

Pro is $19 a month, less than half of Jobscan Premium's $49.95 and below the $29.98 a month of Jobscan's quarterly plan. The 3-month and yearly plans are marked as saving 26% and 47%, without dollar prices on the page, and Pro comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee (RecruitMyself pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: downloading is not free. Building and previewing a CV costs nothing, but the first PDF download starts a 7-day Pro pass at $2.95, then $19 a month unless you cancel. The free CV score is one full scan per email, and its pages mention PDF export, not Word files.

See RecruitMyself's Pro plan: unlimited ATS scans, per-job tailoring and interview prep for $19 a month, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.

2. Careerflow

Best for: people who want a job tracker with autofill and an ATS check at a low monthly price.

Careerflow's free plan lets you create one tailored resume with basic keyword matching, gives a basic ATS score on one resume and tracks up to 10 jobs with autofill (Careerflow's free and Premium guide, found 16 October 2026). Premium adds the full ATS score and keyword analyser, unlimited resumes, an advanced LinkedIn optimiser and AI cover letters for $23.99 a month or $172.99 a year. Its tracker is a Kanban board with notes and follow-up reminders, and its extension saves jobs from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and company career pages.

Where it falls short: the full job-post check is paid, and mock interviews sit on Premium Plus, which one review lists at $44.99 a month, though one of Careerflow's own pages calls its mock interview practice free. We found no job board of matched roles.

3. Teal

Best for: people who want a resume builder and a job tracker, with keyword matching when they pay.

Teal starts from the resume and the search rather than the scan. Its free plan lets you build and export resumes from 10 templates, track the jobs you apply for, and see the top five keywords in a job description. Teal+ unlocks the match score, unlimited keyword matching, advanced resume analysis and unlimited AI tools for $29 a month, $13 a week or $79 a quarter, about $26.33 a month. No source we found lists an annual plan (Toolradar's Teal pricing, found 16 October 2026).

Teal also covers the steps after the scan. Its Chrome extension fills in application forms, which you then submit yourself, and its AI Interview Coach runs mock interviews built from the job description (Teal's tools, found 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: the full match score is paid, and the weekly plan adds up: four weeks at $13 is $52, against $29 for a month. One listing gives a different weekly rate, so confirm it at checkout.

4. Simplify

Best for: free autofill and job matches, with tailoring when you pay.

Simplify says its autofill, tracker, job matches and a basic resume builder will stay free for everyone (Simplify autofill, found 16 October 2026). The extension fills in application forms from one saved profile and never submits for you. Its Keywords Score compares your resume with one job posting at a time and lists the matched and missing keywords as a percentage (Simplify help center, found 16 October 2026). Simplify+, which adds AI tailoring and cover letters, is $39.99 a month, $19.99 a week or $89.99 for three months (Simplify+ features and pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: Simplify+ has no yearly plan, and Simplify calls its score guidance rather than an employer's ATS score.

5. Huntr

Best for: job seekers who organise the search around a tracker and want each posting scored.

Huntr's Job Match Score rates your resume against a posting's qualifications, responsibilities and keywords (Huntr help center, found 16 October 2026), and its Resume Tailor adds keywords from each posting to your resume (Huntr Resume Tailor, found 16 October 2026). Its board moves each application through its stages, and the extension saves jobs from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and other sites and fills in forms where the form is visible on the page. There is a $0 plan, and Pro is $40 a month, or $30 a month billed quarterly.

Where it falls short: at $40 a month it is the dearest of the tools that also build and apply, sources disagree on how many jobs the free plan holds (40 or 100), and some employer sites block the extension.

6. Rezi

Best for: writers who want keyword targeting built into the resume editor.

Rezi is a resume builder with the ATS check inside it. Pro adds the Rezi Score and Keyword Targeting, plus unlimited resumes, AI interviews and PDF downloads and every template. The free plan gives one resume, three PDF downloads, one AI interview, the standard templates and Rezi's AI resume writer and editor. Pro is $29 a month, and Lifetime costs $149 once for permanent Pro access (Toolradar's Rezi pricing, found 16 October 2026). Rezi's own help docs also list a quarterly Pro plan at $57 every three months, $19 a month (Rezi's plans explained, found 16 October 2026). On the quarterly plan, six months costs $114, so Lifetime only pays off once you would buy a third quarter ($171).

Where it falls short: the free plan has neither Keyword Targeting nor the Rezi Score, so you cannot try the Jobscan-style check before paying, and Rezi's help docs say Lifetime does not include the free monthly resume review.

7. SkillSyncer

Best for: a scanner that works the way Jobscan does, at a lower monthly price.

SkillSyncer compares a resume with a job post and scores the match, with live match scoring, skills and keyword matching, style checks such as word choice and date formatting, and a job board tracker. The free plan gives two job match scans with a score each week, builds and exports one resume, keeps 10 scans in history and includes 10 AI credits a week. Premium is $14.95 a month, or $11.62 a month billed every three months, for unlimited scans, unlimited history and 250 AI credits a week (SkillSyncer pricing, found 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: two free scans a week is slow for an active search, the free builder covers one resume, and the sources we read show no help filling in applications.

8. Jobalytics

Best for: scoring job postings as you browse, at no cost.

Jobalytics is a Chrome extension. You upload your resume, open a posting on a site such as LinkedIn or Indeed, and it shows a match score from 0 to 100, the keywords you are missing and recommended jobs. Its Chrome Web Store listing describes it as free on any job board (Jobalytics on the Chrome Web Store, found 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: it points out gaps but does not rewrite or build the resume, and directories disagree on whether a paid tier exists.

9. Resume Worded

Best for: line-by-line feedback on how your resume is written.

Resume Worded's free version scores a resume out of 100 and gives line-by-line feedback. Its Jobscan-style feature, Targeted Resume, is on Pro: you paste a job description, it lists the keywords you are missing, and a relevancy score updates as you edit. Pro also adds an AI writer and the complete analysis reports.

Pro is $49 a month, $99 a quarter or $229 a year on Resume Worded's own Pro page (Resume Worded Pro, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: the job-post check is paid only, and one tester found its Targeted Resume results mixed.

10. Resume Matcher

Best for: technical users who want a free tool they control.

Resume Matcher is open-source software under the Apache 2.0 licence. You upload a master resume as a PDF or Word file, paste the job description you are targeting and review the improvements an AI model suggests, using a local or hosted language model (Resume Matcher on GitHub, found 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: you install and run it yourself and supply the AI model. Older write-ups describe a similarity score, but the sources we read do not confirm a numeric match score in the current version.

What a three-month search costs

Few searches end inside a month, so here is three months of each paid plan at the prices above:

  • Jobscan Premium: $89.95 on the quarterly plan, or $149.85 paying monthly.
  • RecruitMyself Pro: $57 paying monthly; its 3-month plan is marked as saving 26%, but the price is not listed.
  • Careerflow Premium: $54.99 on the 3-month plan, or $71.97 paying monthly.
  • Teal+: $79 on the quarterly plan, or $87 paying monthly.
  • Simplify+: $89.99 for three months, or $119.97 paying monthly.
  • Huntr Pro: $90 billed quarterly, or $120 paying monthly.
  • Rezi Pro: $57 on the quarterly plan, $87 paying monthly, or $149 once for Lifetime.
  • SkillSyncer Premium: about $35 billed quarterly, or $44.85 paying monthly.
  • Resume Worded Pro: $99 a quarter, or $147 paying monthly.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free alternative to Jobscan?

Yes, with limits. Jobalytics is a free Chrome extension that scores your resume against a posting, and Resume Matcher is free open-source software you run yourself. SkillSyncer's free plan gives two job match scans a week, Teal's shows the top five keywords of a job description, Simplify's Keywords Score sits next to free autofill and tracking, and RecruitMyself gives one full CV score scan per email free, with building, previewing and the autofill extension free too. Jobscan's own free account includes 5 scans a month.

Do I need an ATS resume checker at all?

Not always. Most medium and large employers use software to store and search applications, so a resume that leaves out the job's own terms, or a layout that a parser reads out of order, can be missed. A checker shows those gaps quickly: RecruitMyself's CV score, for example, runs 30 checks with keywords weighted at 40%, and one full scan per email is free. You can also check your own file by hand: our free short course AI for Your Job Search has a lesson on the parsing and wording faults that cost you a search.
