8 Best AI Resume Builders in 2026 (Prices Checked)

By

· Updated · 14 min read

The eight AI resume builders worth comparing in 2026 are RecruitMyself, Teal, Rezi, Kickresume, Resume.io, Enhancv, Zety and FlowCV, each checked on 16 October 2026 for four steps (write, score, tailor and apply) and priced by tier. RecruitMyself comes first because it covers all four steps under one Pro plan at $19 a month, with a free autofill extension. RecruitMyself is made by a company connected to Automate Basics. Teal and Rezi cover the same four steps at $29 a month, and FlowCV gives a watermark-free PDF on its free plan.

Key takeaways

  • For a resume you also want scored, matched to each job and carried into application forms, our first pick is RecruitMyself. Building and previewing in its AI builder are free, its CV score rates a resume from 0 to 100 across 30 checks, and one $19-a-month Pro plan adds one-click tailoring to each job and unlimited ATS scans. Its Chrome extension fills in applications for free, and you review and submit each one yourself.
  • Every builder on this page has a paid plan under $50 a month. Billed month to month, they run from $19 (RecruitMyself Pro) to $39 (Enhancv Pro). FlowCV Pro is the cheapest overall at $60 a year ($5 a month billed yearly), but we found no month-to-month price for it.
  • The download is where the terms differ most. Teal and FlowCV let free users download PDFs without limit, Kickresume does too with its free design options, and Rezi's free plan allows three. Resume.io and Zety give free users a TXT file (Resume.io adds one PDF template) and sell full PDF access through a short trial that renews. RecruitMyself's first download starts a 7-day Pro pass at $2.95, then $19 a month unless you cancel.
  • Other picks by need: Teal for unlimited free PDFs next to a job tracker, Rezi for a detailed 23-criteria score and a one-time Lifetime plan, Kickresume for building a first draft from a pasted job ad, and FlowCV for a watermark-free PDF on a free plan.

An AI resume builder drafts and polishes the resume for you, but the builders worth paying for in 2026 differ most in what they do after the writing: whether they score the draft, match it to a job ad and help you fill in the application. We checked RecruitMyself, Teal, Rezi, Kickresume, Resume.io, Enhancv, Zety and FlowCV on those four steps and priced every plan on 16 October 2026. RecruitMyself comes first because it covers all four steps under one Pro plan at $19 a month. Teal and Rezi cover the same four steps at $29.

Before you pay for any of them, take the free AI for Your Job Search course. It shows you how to tailor a CV and covering letter to a specific advert without inventing anything, which is the judgement every tool on this page still leaves to you.

The 8 builders compared, by price tier

Prices in US dollars, read 16 October 2026. "Month to month" is each builder's price with no commitment longer than a month; a four-week or 30-day cycle is shown as the vendor states it, with any shorter pass or trial beside it.

How we ranked these 8

The pool. We asked seven AI answer engines for an AI resume builder under $50 on 16 October 2026. Teal and Kickresume were named by all seven, Rezi by five and Resume.io by four, and Zety, Enhancv and FlowCV also appeared. We added RecruitMyself to those seven. Other names in the answers (Wobo, ResumeUp.AI, StylingCV, Novoresume and CVmake among them) and the advice to use ChatGPT or Claude directly are not covered here.

The bar. A builder made the list if it has AI writing help inside the builder, publishes a self-serve price, and exports a PDF. All eight pass.

The four steps. We then checked each builder for four jobs a resume has to do in a job search:

  1. Write: AI that drafts or rewrites resume content inside the builder.
  2. Score: a resume score or ATS check that tells you what to fix.
  3. Tailor: paste a job description and get the resume matched to it.
  4. Apply: a browser extension that fills in application forms from your resume.

A step counts when the builder's own pages, or a review our search returned, described it on 16 October 2026, whether it sits on the free plan or a paid one.

The order. Builders that cover more steps rank higher. Ties go to the lower month-to-month price, and the one remaining tie (Teal and Rezi, both $29) goes to the builder more engines named. Longer terms change the sums: Rezi's quarterly plan works out at $19 a month and Kickresume's yearly plan at $8 to $10, so compare the term you will actually use.

The sources. RecruitMyself's facts come from its own site, read on 16 October 2026. Each rival's prices come from one web search run the same day, with a second search on the vendor's own domain where results disagreed (Teal and Resume.io). Where sources still disagree, the entry says so.

1. RecruitMyself

RecruitMyself is made by a company connected to Automate Basics.

Best for: job seekers who want one tool to write the resume, score it, tailor it to each job and fill in the application.

RecruitMyself is a hiring platform where job seekers find jobs, build resumes and check them against applicant tracking systems. Its AI resume builder writes and sharpens bullet points, imports a CV you upload, and tailors the resume to the keywords in a job description. All 8 of its templates (Cascade, Spark, Banner, Milestone, Aria, Atlas, Meridian and Portrait) use a single-column layout built to parse cleanly, and the export is a PDF with selectable text.

The CV score rates a resume from 0 to 100 across 30 checks. Keywords carry 40% of the weight, job-title alignment 20%, years of experience 20%, education 10% and soft skills 10%. One full scan per email is free with no card, it reads PDF, DOC, DOCX and TXT files up to 5MB, and Pro makes scans unlimited. The Chrome extension is free to install and fills in application forms on Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, LinkedIn and company career pages. It never submits for you: you review each form and send it yourself. AI tailoring inside the extension needs Pro.

Price: building and previewing a resume are free. Downloading needs an account and a payment: the first download gives 7 days of Pro access for $2.95, then $19 a month unless you cancel. Pro at $19 a month adds one-click tailoring to each job, unlimited ATS scans with keyword fixes, AI interview prep and a list of the jobs that match you. Its 3-month and yearly options are marked as saving 26% and 47%, with the prices not listed. Plans renew until cancelled and carry a 7-day money-back guarantee (RecruitMyself pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: there is no free download, so the cheapest way to a PDF is the $2.95 pass, which renews at $19 a month unless you cancel. Its pages mention PDF export only, with no DOCX, and all 8 templates are single-column, so there are no two-column or design-led layouts.

To see where your current resume loses points, run RecruitMyself's free CV score: you get the 0 to 100 rating from one full scan, with no card needed.

2. Teal

Best for: job seekers who want unlimited free PDF downloads and a job tracker beside the resume.

Teal pairs a resume builder with a job tracker. The free plan gives unlimited resumes, unlimited job tracking, 10 templates, a basic Analysis Mode and a small allowance of AI credits for bullets, summaries and cover letters, and those credits do not renew. Teal's own pages say free PDF downloads have no cap. Job Matching compares your resume with a saved job description and lists the keywords you are missing. Its Chrome extension saves jobs from more than 40 job boards into the tracker and fills in applications, drafting answers to open questions from the job description and your history, which you can edit before you submit.

Price: Teal+ is $13 for 7 days, $29 for 30 days or $79 for 90 days, and it renews until you cancel. It adds unlimited AI writing, deeper Analysis Mode suggestions, more keywords in Job Matching, premium templates and an advanced design mode (Teal+ pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: most of the AI and the full keyword list sit behind Teal+, and the free AI credits run out for good. One search result put the weekly plan at $9 rather than $13, so check the figure at checkout.

3. Rezi

Best for: a detailed resume score and the option of a one-time price instead of a subscription.

Rezi Score rates a resume from 1 to 100 against 23 criteria, including bullet length, active verbs, quantified results, filler words and consistent formatting. AI Keyword Targeting takes a job title, job description and company name, lists the keywords your resume lacks and suggests where to place them. The Chrome extension fills in applications on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and other applicant tracking systems from your Rezi profile, and Rezi says the autofill is free. Its changelog lists a September 2026 update that added auto-apply on Greenhouse-hosted postings.

Price: the free plan covers one resume, limited AI and up to three PDF downloads. Pro is $29 a month, or $19 a month on a quarterly plan. Lifetime is a one-time $149 on Rezi's current help page (an older snapshot showed $129), and it leaves out the monthly Rezi Resume Review (Rezi subscription plans, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: three downloads of one resume is a tight free allowance if you tailor for every job, and the month-to-month Pro price is $10 above the quarterly rate. If your search runs past two months, the quarterly plan costs less ($57 a quarter against $58 for two months).

4. Kickresume

Best for: building a first draft from a pasted job ad, or a resume in another language.

Kickresume's AI rewrites an existing CV to fit a job ad you paste in, adjusting the keywords, summary, experience, education and skills, and Kickresume says it uses only what is already in your CV. With no resume at all, it can generate one from the job description. Its ATS checker simulates a scan and gives tips, and the toolkit adds a cover letter writer and translation into 8 languages (Kickresume resume tailoring, read 16 October 2026).

Price: the free plan lets you make and download as many resumes as you like, as long as you stick to the free design options. Premium is $24 a month on its pricing pages. Longer terms differ by regional page: $18 a month quarterly or $8 a month billed yearly ($96) on the English page, and $14 a month half-yearly or $10 a month billed yearly ($120) on the US page (Kickresume pricing, read 16 October 2026). Older help-centre pages still quote $19 a month.

Where it falls short: our searches found no extension that fills in applications, so that step stays manual, and the ATS checker and most AI writing need Premium.

5. Resume.io

Best for: a free ATS score alongside a score for how well you match one job.

Resume.io's free ATS checker runs 16 checks and returns a score at once. Add a job description and it gives two scores, one for completeness and one for how closely the resume matches the role, and it can fine-tune the resume for that job (Resume.io ATS checker, read 16 October 2026). An older Resume.io announcement put one-click tailoring on premium plans. The AI resume builder writes and improves sections for you.

Price: the free plan covers one resume and one cover letter, with TXT downloads and one PDF template. The pricing page lists a 7-day trial at $2.95 that renews at $29.95 every four weeks, a quarterly plan at $49.95 every three months, and a 7-day money-back guarantee (Resume.io pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: billing every four weeks means 13 charges a year, $389.35 if you never stop, and older pages quote $24.95, so confirm the renewal at checkout. Resume.io also says some countries get one-time plans without every premium feature. Our searches found no autofill extension.

6. Enhancv

Best for: turning one posting into a tailored summary, title and skills section.

Enhancv's tailoring tool compares your resume with a job ad you paste in and suggests keywords and wording: a keyword-rich title, a tailored summary and a skills section. You can start from a PDF or DOCX upload. Its AI rewrites bullets, suggests new ones and writes 50 to 80 word summaries, and its resume checker flags issues, with the free version showing one key recommendation and the full list on Pro. Enhancv says it does not use uploaded resumes to train AI models (Enhancv tailoring, read 16 October 2026).

Price: Pro is $39 a month, $69 every three months or $99 every six months ($16.50 a month) on Enhancv's own pricing page, before tax and in your regional currency (Enhancv pricing, read 16 October 2026). Its help centre still lists older prices of $24.99 a month, $49.97 every three months and $79.94 every six months, so check the figure at checkout.

Where it falls short: the free terms are hard to pin down. One review describes a free tier that downloads two resumes with Enhancv branding, another describes a 7-day trial, so check before you rely on it. Our searches found no autofill extension.

7. Zety

Best for: trying a guided builder for two weeks before you commit.

Zety's free Basic package includes the resume builder, templates, a cover letter builder, TXT downloads, a resume check and instant job matches, according to its pricing table. Its AI suggests content for your target role. One review says it does not tailor to a specific job description, so we did not count tailoring as a step (Zety review on ResumeCoach, read 16 October 2026).

Price: on the US pricing page, Pro is $1.95 for 14 days, then renews at $25.95 every four weeks until you cancel. The UK page renews at £20.95 every four weeks. PDF and Word downloads need the paid plan (Zety pricing, read 16 October 2026).

Where it falls short: four-week billing comes to 13 charges a year, $337.35 if you never stop, and reviewers report renewal charges they did not expect. Our searches found no autofill extension.

8. FlowCV

Best for: a clean PDF at no cost.

FlowCV's free plan gives one resume and one cover letter, unlimited PDF downloads with no watermark, every template, full control of the layout and design, and three imports of an existing resume. Pro is $60 a year ($5 a month billed yearly); the pricing page shows no month-to-month price in our search. It adds unlimited resumes and cover letters, a job application tracker and AI features (FlowCV pricing, read 16 October 2026). The AI is described as writing suggestions and tips.

Where it falls short: our searches found no resume score, no tailoring to a pasted job description and no autofill extension, so FlowCV covers the writing and leaves the other three steps to you.

Which one should you pick?

Start from the step that costs you the most time:

  • "I want one tool from first draft to submitted form": RecruitMyself, at $19 a month for Pro, with free autofill.
  • "I track dozens of applications": Teal, whose free plan includes unlimited job tracking.
  • "I want a number to push up before I send": Rezi's 23-criteria score, or the free scores from RecruitMyself (30 checks) and Resume.io (16 checks).
  • "I have a job ad and no resume": Kickresume, which drafts from the ad.
  • "I only need a PDF, today, for nothing": FlowCV or Teal on their free plans.

If you would rather wire the tracking and follow-ups together yourself, our guide to automating the admin half of a job hunt shows the steps, and you can turn the job description into practice interview questions once the application is in.

Before you choose

Prices in this category change often, so check each builder's own pricing page before you buy; every figure above was read on 16 October 2026. If you want one place to build the resume, score it, tailor it to each job and fill in the forms, start building your resume in RecruitMyself: building and previewing are free, and the first download starts a 7-day Pro pass at $2.95, then $19 a month unless you cancel. To get better at the tailoring itself, take the free AI for Your Job Search course.

For builders compared on templates and what a download costs rather than on AI, see our best resume builders, and if Teal is the tool you are leaving, our Teal alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI resume builder under $50?

Every builder on this page has a plan under $50 a month. If you want writing, scoring, tailoring and applying in one tool, RecruitMyself's Pro plan is $19 a month and its autofill extension is free. Teal ($29 per 30 days) and Rezi ($29 a month) cover the same four steps. Watch the billing cycle: Resume.io ($29.95) and Zety ($25.95) bill every four weeks, which is 13 charges a year.

Is there a free AI resume builder?

Several builders are free to use, but they differ on the download. Teal and FlowCV let free users download PDFs without limit, Kickresume does with its free design options, and Rezi allows three PDF downloads of one resume. RecruitMyself is free to build and preview in, and its first download starts a 7-day Pro pass at $2.95, then $19 a month unless you cancel. Resume.io and Zety give free users a TXT file, and Resume.io adds a PDF in one template.

Can an AI resume builder fill in job applications for me?

Three builders on this page have a Chrome extension that fills in application forms: RecruitMyself, Teal and Rezi. RecruitMyself's autofill is free on Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, LinkedIn and company career pages, and it never submits for you. Rezi's changelog adds auto-apply on Greenhouse-hosted postings. Filling forms and submitting them for you are different things, and reviewing each application before it goes is still worth the minute it takes.
